We live in a world full of intense competition. In today’s fast-paced life, we stay busy from morning to night, working like machines. We push ourselves to succeed and are constantly worried about daily responsibilities. Because of this, we often miss out on simple pleasures. To avoid life becoming boring and dull, we must take time to rest and recharge our energy.

A picnic is a great way to break free from the routine and boredom of life. People spend money to escape their daily lives, going to resorts or fun spots to relax. These trips refresh them, and they return to their homes and jobs with new energy and excitement.

What peaceful hours I once enjoyed!
How sweet their memory still!

Recreation means spending time doing fun activities that bring happiness and peace of mind. It gives us a break from the stresses of everyday life. With the fast pace of modern life, we are caught in a never-ending race, making us too busy to even pause and reflect. Recreation provides that much-needed break from work.

Recreation is like a cool shower on a hot day or a beam of moonlight in the dark. It is a time to have fun with others. Regular recreation is essential for long-term health and peace of mind. Picnics are a form of recreation and an important part of our lives.

“Breaks in routine are the blessed ones.” (David Daiches)

One day, my friends and I planned to visit the Tomb of Emperor Jahangir in Lahore. Some of us had never been there, though we had heard a lot about it. We left for Lahore in the morning and arrived around 10 am. Our first stop was the tomb of Noor Jahan, the great queen. Surrounded by beautiful parks, the tomb looked magnificent, reminding me of poetry from the famous poet Keats.

A thing of beauty is a joy.

The tomb’s main building didn’t seem well-maintained. After offering our respects, we moved to the tomb of Jahangir. When we entered, we were a bit disappointed, as it wasn’t as impressive as we expected. However, the real surprise awaited us. As we explored further, we reached a lovely garden and decided to climb the towers. From the top, we saw the entire city of Lahore, which looked like a colorful mix of different shapes and sizes. The river Ravi appeared to flow right under our feet, and the view was breathtaking.

We had a great time. After coming down from the tower, we entered the tomb building, which had beautiful tiles and Mughal-style flower designs.

see nothing”

Next, we went to the river Ravi, which flowed calmly. The surroundings were peaceful, with bright flowers and a cool breeze. We spread a sheet under a shady tree and relaxed. The cloudy sky kept the sun away, and it seemed like rain was falling somewhere nearby. We decided to swim in the river since we were all good swimmers. It was a lot of fun.

We also played cricket, and later we walked around the gardens, singing happily. A mango tree caught our attention, and we enjoyed eating the ripe mangoes. After some time, we decided to head back home. By the time we reached, we were tired but content. It was an unforgettable picnic that I will always cherish.

“Harsh days never last forever but good memories do.”
